LAHORE, Mar 30 (APP): Punjab Secretary for Housing and Urban Development Noor Ul Amin Mengal has directed that sewerage infrastructure designs under the Punjab Development Program be completed strictly by April 15, emphasizing that no delay will be tolerated.
He issued these instructions while chairing a review meeting held to assess progress on sewerage infrastructure design work across multiple districts.
During the meeting, officials from National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) briefed the Secretary that work on sewerage infrastructure design is currently underway in 12 districts.
The Secretary directed NESPAK to ensure timely completion of all design phases within the stipulated deadline and instructed that the performance and efficiency of field teams be further improved. He also said that the quality of designs prepared by NESPAK will be thoroughly evaluated, while Quality Assurance Committees will monitor performance on a continuous basis.
Secretary Housing further stressed that completion of development works before the monsoon season is essential, warning that any delay in sewerage design could adversely impact the overall pace of the Punjab Development Program. He added that, in line with the Chief Minister Punjab’s directions, all administrative and technical bottlenecks are being removed on a priority basis, and timely completion of the program will be ensured under all circumstances.
