Sargodha University syndicate approves key academic, administrative decisions
SARGODHA, Aug 28 (APP): The University of Sargodha (UoS) Syndicate approved several academic and administrative measures at its 76th meeting on Friday, while members commended Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas for his contributions to the university during his four-year tenure.
The meeting, held at the committee room of the Multipurpose Halls, was chaired by Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas and attended by members of the Syndicate, including Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairperson Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan and senior officials from the Higher Education, Finance, and Law and Parliamentary Affairs departments.
The Syndicate approved recommendations of the Academic Council, granted provisional affiliation to colleges and endorsed the Vice Chancellor’s decisions regarding the appointment of chairpersons of academic departments and confirmation of service of faculty members and officers.
At the outset, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas briefed the members on initiatives and milestones during his four-year tenure aimed at strengthening the university’s academic and research profile, improving administrative efficiency and enhancing its financial position.
The members appreciated his contributions to the university and paid tribute to his services to the institution.
At the conclusion, Additional Secretary (Universities), Higher Education Department, Zahida Azhar presented Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas with a shield and bouquet in recognition of his services as Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the Syndicate.
