District Emergency Officer (DEO) Engineer Ehtesham Wahla said that Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 14,474 emergency calls during May 2026, providing timely assistance to 14,443 affected individuals across various categories of emergencies in Faisalabad.
Rescue 1122 responds to 14,474 emergencies
FAISALABAD, Jun 01 (APP): District Emergency Officer (DEO) Engineer Ehtesham Wahla said that Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 14,474 emergency calls during May 2026, providing timely assistance to 14,443 affected individuals across various categories of emergencies in Faisalabad.
He said that the monthly performance report showed that the emergency control room received thousands of calls last month and ensured rapid response operations across the district, maintaining an efficient emergency response system despite high workload and challenging conditions.
He said Rescue 1122 responded to 2,838 road traffic accidents, 9,848 medical emergencies, 236 fire incidents, 321 crime-related emergencies, 5 drowning cases, 9 building collapse incidents and 1,084 miscellaneous emergencies during the month.
Similarly, Rescue 1122 teams also responded to 131 calls involving the rescue of birds and various animals, reflecting the organization’s broader humanitarian role, he added.
He said that out of the total 14,443 individuals assisted, 8,415 were provided on-spot first aid while 5,431 victims were shifted to different hospitals across the district for advanced medical treatment.
Despite extensive efforts, 597 individuals could not survive during various emergencies, he regretted.
