Rescue 1122 deploys 312 personnel for Ashura duty

GUJRAT, Jun 26 (APP):Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) on Friday deployed 312 rescuers,ambulances and medical response teams across Gujrat district to ensure emergency cover during Majalis and mourning processions held on the 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to officials,a district-wide emergency deployment plan was implemented for 33 religious events, including 15 Majalis and 18 mourning processions.
Of these,23 events were held in Gujrat tehsil,seven in Kharian and three in Sarai Alamgir.
The events were categorized into A, B and C categories based on their sensitivity.
Rescue 1122 deployed 312 personnel,assisted by 45 volunteers along with 33 emergency vehicles and 45 motorbike medical response units.
More than 14,500 mourners were expected to participate in the events.
Officials said two events concluded peacefully while 15 Majalis and processions were in progress and the remaining 16 were scheduled to begin later in the day.
During the deployment,Rescue 1122 teams provided first aid to 35 mourners while one injured person was shifted to hospital for further treatment.
District Emergency Officer(DEO),Umar Akbar Ali Ghuman directed all tehsil in-charges to remain in the field to ensure an effective emergency response while the Rescue Control Room continued to monitor the situation throughout the district.
Officials said no untoward incident or loss of life had been reported,adding that the overall law and order situation remained peaceful
