ATTOCK, Jul 11 (APP): Rescue 1122 Attock on Saturday conducted its fourth pre-flood mock exercise for Flood Season 2026 at the Shadi Khan point on the Indus River to test emergency response capabilities and enhance preparedness for potential flooding during the monsoon season.
The exercise was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mudassir Ali Shah in line with the Punjab government’s directives on flood preparedness. District Emergency Officer Dr. Mian Muhammad Ashfaq briefed the deputy commissioner on the district’s flood emergency plan, available rescue resources, deployment of rescue boats and trained divers, emergency response teams, and coordination mechanisms among relevant departments.
During the simulation, Rescue 1122 personnel demonstrated flood response operations, including the evacuation of stranded residents by boats, rescue of drowning victims, provision of first aid, transportation of the injured to hospitals and the implementation of standard emergency rescue procedures. Representatives of other departments also demonstrated their respective emergency response roles and reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated action during any flood emergency.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mudassir Ali Shah praised the preparedness and professionalism of Rescue 1122 and expressed satisfaction with the district’s flood response arrangements. He directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert throughout the monsoon season to ensure a swift response and safeguard lives and property in the event of flooding.
