Repair, renovation of Plastic Surgery Operation Theatre at LGH to begin on priority basis

LAHORE, Jun 10 (APP): The repair and renovation work on the Plastic Surgery Operation Theatre at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) will be initiated on a priority basis following a meeting on Wednesday between the Communications & Works (C&W) Department and hospital administration.

The decision was taken during a visit of Secretary C&W Raja Jahangir Anwar, who was accompanied by senior officials of the department. He held a detailed meeting with Principal Amiruddin Medical College & PGMI Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal to review the condition of the facility.

During the briefing, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal informed the secretary about the current state of the Plastic Surgery Operation Theatre, after which immediate approval was granted for commencement of repair work.

To ensure uninterrupted patient care during the renovation period, the hospital administration has allocated an alternative operation theatre for plastic surgery services. Additionally, 12 renovated rooms of the Nursing Hostel were formally handed over to the college administration.

The meeting was also attended by Medical Superintendent LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, Chief Engineer C&W Muhammad Arshad, and other relevant officials.

Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all available resources are being utilized to provide patients with modern healthcare facilities and improved infrastructure at LGH. He emphasized that patient safety and care remain the top priority even during ongoing construction activities.

He also expressed gratitude to Secretary C&W Raja Jahangir Anwar for his visit to LGH and his personal interest in development projects aimed at upgrading healthcare services.
