RAWALPINDI, Sep 15 (APP):A long time inactive health facility in Rawalpindi regains focus as district administration moves to fully revive 100-bed Red Crescent Hospital within six months
The important decision to restore the hospital was made during a meeting of Red Crescent Society, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman Red Crescent Society Rawalpindi, Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir.
The meeting held on Tuesday was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Social Services Fazail Mudassar, Deputy Director Development, Chief Officer Health, and committee members.
Addressing the session, the deputy commissioner described the non-functional status of the facility despite its existing state-of-the-art building as a matter of serious concern.
He announced that assistance would be sought from the provincial Chairman and Governor Punjab, along with Red Crescent members and local philanthropists, to resource the rehabilitation process.
The committee agreed that the initial restoration phase will prioritize the gynecology and pediatric departments to immediately begin delivering specialized care to women and children.
Taking immediate notice of security gaps at the complex, Deputy Commissioner ordered Civil Defence authorities to deploy four personnel to secure the hospital premises without delay.
He announced to conduct a detailed site inspection along with the society members in the coming days to review structural repairs, facility needs and clinical department requirements.
