RDA takes action against illegal Housing Schemes and unauthorized development in Morgah Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Sep 18 (APP):On the directions of the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Salman Ghani, the RDA Enforcement Squad has taken action against illegal housing schemes, unauthorized construction and other violations within its controlled areas.
In compliance with the directions of the competent authority, the RDA enforcement team conducted an operation against illegal activities and violations at three locations namely Downtown Morgah, located on Defence Road opposite Askari-14; a land subdivision near Dhok Nawaz Graveyard; and an illegal housing scheme at Riaz Chowk, Morgah, Rawalpindi.
During the operation, illegally constructed roads, infrastructure, manholes, sewerage pipelines and barriers were demolished at the sites in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations.
The action was carried out in accordance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, and other applicable planning laws and regulations.
The RDA enforcement team has been directed to continue regular field inspections and take action against illegal development, unauthorized construction and other violations strictly in accordance with the law.
The RDA Spokesperson said that the Authority has made it clear that unauthorized commercial activities, illegal construction and development violations would not be permitted within its controlled areas. He said strict action is being taken against violators to ensure compliance with approved building plans, zoning regulations and other applicable laws.
He further said that action against illegal construction, unauthorized development and unlawful commercial activities would continue in accordance with the applicable laws, rules and regulations. Field teams have been directed to maintain strict monitoring and take action against violations without discrimination.
The enforcement operation was carried out by Muhammad Daud, Deputy Director Planning, accompanied by Lutafullah, Assistant Director Planning; Hamza Saleem, Assistant Director Planning; Muhammad Tariq, Scheme Superintendent; Imran Hussain, Scheme Inspector; and other field staff.
