RAWALPINDI, Jun 10 (APP):The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Wednesday reviewed progress on the proposed land use plan along the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) corridor, with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to coordinated planning and sustainable development.
The meeting was held at the RDA Conference Room under the chairmanship of Additional Director General RDA Masood Ahmad Bukhari on the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General RDA, Engr. Aamir Khattak.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planner RDA, representatives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Deputy Director Local Government and Chief Executive Officer Health Rawalpindi.
A presentation was given on decisions taken during the previous meeting held on May 15, 2026. Participants reviewed priority areas identified for land acquisition in various blocks and discussed the responsibilities of relevant departments for the effective implementation of the proposed plan.
Representatives of the RCCI stressed the importance of allocating suitable commercial and industrial zones along the Ring Road corridor to support business activity and investment.
The forum was informed that sufficient commercial and industrial areas had already been incorporated into the proposed land use plan to promote economic growth, investment and sustainable regional development.
The Deputy Director of Local Government and the CEO of Health appreciated the planning exercise and acknowledged the efforts of the RDA in preparing the proposed land use framework. They assured full cooperation for the successful implementation of the project.
The Deputy Director of Local Government informed the meeting that the proposed plan would be shared with the respective tehsil councils to obtain their input and recommendations, ensuring a consultative and inclusive planning process.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to inter-departmental coordination and the sustainable development of the RRR corridor.
