RDA moves to establish dedicated enforcement directorate for effective enforcement operations
RAWALPINDI, Sep 07 (APP):A meeting regarding the Terms of Reference (TORs) for the proposed (Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Enforcement Directorate was held at the RDA Conference Room, chaired by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Salman Ghani.
The Director Administration RDA, Nosheen Israr gave a presentation on the proposed Enforcement Directorate and its operational mechanism.
She briefed the participants that the proposed system would ensure coordinated, effective and result-oriented enforcement operations across the areas falling under RDA’s jurisdiction.
The meeting was further informed that officers and officials from the four major operational directorates of RDA namely Town Planning, Building Control, Estate Management and Land Development, would be engaged in enforcement activities.
The participants also decided that support from Punjab Police Rawalpindi and the PERA Force would be sought, wherever required, for enforcement operations against encroachments, illegal constructions and under-construction buildings, as well as against illegal and unapproved housing schemes operating within the overall area under RDA control.
The proposed Enforcement Directorate would provide a coordinated institutional framework for carrying out enforcement operations, improving field coordination among the relevant RDA directorates and ensuring effective action against violations of planning and building regulations and illegal development activities.
The Commissioner Rawalpindi appreciated the Director Administration Nosheen Israr for presenting the comprehensive proposal and said that the proposed TORs should be finalized at the earliest so that the Enforcement Directorate could be made fully operational in an effective and professional manner.
