RAWALPINDI, Apr 07 (APP): The Rawalpindi Police are on high alert, with more than 3,200 officers and personnel deployed across the city to ensure security and maintain public order amid the current national situation, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani directed that all senior officers remain in the field to supervise security arrangements and that law enforcement be strictly enforced, including Section 144, which bans any unlawful gatherings. He urged citizens to avoid participating in illegal or disruptive activities.

The spokesman said police had been stationed on all major roads, while mobile units, Elite Commandos, and Dolphin Force personnel patrolled key locations. Monitoring was being conducted round the clock through Safe City and other CCTV cameras.

He added that 57 special pickets had been established to prevent disorder and criminal activity, warning that anyone violating the law or engaging in disruptive acts would be dealt with firmly.
CPO Hamdani emphasised that the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the enforcement of law were the top priorities of the Rawalpindi Police.
