RAWALPINDI, Jun 02 (APP): The Rawalpindi administration has stepped up efforts to eradicate polio and curb dengue transmission, with a special focus on field monitoring, hotspot surveillance and coordinated response across allied departments.
The measures were reviewed at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Abdul Rehman Khan, where officials assessed progress on the post-polio eradication campaign and ongoing anti-dengue operations.
The chair directed departments to deploy all utilize all resources to eliminate polio risks and prevent dengue outbreaks, stressing strict supervision of field activities and accountability at operational level.
Health officials briefed that continuous monitoring of high-risk areas, strengthened dengue surveillance and targeted larval elimination campaigns were being prioritised to minimize the chances of disease spread.
The meeting was informed that public awareness campaigns were also being scaled up along with inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely implementation of strategies and achievement of health targets.
