Railway minister orders feasibility report for restoration of collapsed bridge near Misan Kallar

Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Sunday inspected a collapsed bridge and the damaged railway track near Misan Kallar and directed authorities to prepare a feasibility report for its restoration within 20 days.

LAHORE, Aug 09 (APP): Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Sunday inspected a collapsed bridge and the damaged railway track near Misan Kallar and directed authorities to prepare a feasibility report for its restoration within 20 days.
The minister visited the affected section on a railway trolley and reviewed the condition of the bridge and track. He was given a detailed briefing on the damage caused to the bridge and railway infrastructure.
Hanif Abbasi directed that, after completion of the feasibility report, railway engineers should undertake practical work for reconstruction of the bridge and restoration of the damaged track.
Train operations on the Lahore-Faisalabad section have been suspended following the collapse of the bridge.
The minister directed that restoration work on the bridge and track be carried out strictly in accordance with safety requirements. He said every officer and employee would have to fulfil their responsibilities to ensure the earliest possible restoration of train operations.
Railways CEO Hafizullah Khan, AGM Infrastructure Hammad Hassan Mirza, Divisional Superintendent Lahore and other senior officers accompanied the minister during the inspection.
