Radio Pakistan Sargodha, NHMP organize ‘Road Safety Awareness’ dialogue

The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) on Monday urged citizens to strictly follow traffic regulations and adopt safe driving practices during a road safety awareness program organized by Radio Pakistan Sargodha FM-101 through its program Shaheen Sargodha.

SARGODHA, June 08 (APP): The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) on Monday urged citizens to strictly follow traffic regulations and adopt safe driving practices during a road safety awareness program organized by Radio Pakistan Sargodha FM-101 through its program Shaheen Sargodha.
The session was attended by DSP Fahad Ajmal, Inspector Zulfiqar Ali, Inspector Imran Tabassum and Sub-Inspector Faryal Ali, who highlighted key measures for reducing road accidents and promoting responsible driving behaviour on highways and motorways.
The officers stressed the importance of wearing seat belts, avoiding drowsy driving, maintaining lane discipline and adhering to speed limits.
They also cautioned against overloading vehicles and carrying passengers beyond prescribed capacity,terming it a major safety hazard.
Special focus was placed on summer travel precautions,including proper tyre maintenance, correct air pressure and thorough vehicle inspection before long-distance journeys.
Officials also highlighted the NHMP helpline 130 as a 24/7 facility for emergency assistance and complaint registration.
During the session,the officers explained the P.O.W.E.R. formula for safe driving and discussed motorway speed regulations,urging motorists to comply with prescribed limits at all times.
They also elaborated on traffic signage categories, stating that triangular signs indicate warnings,circular signs denote prohibitions and mandatory instructions, while rectangular and square signs provide information and guidance.
The speakers said road safety was a collective responsibility and urged citizens to adopt cautious driving behavior to prevent avoidable accidents and loss of life.
The program was hosted by Sibtain Baloch with Muhammad Jamshed Qadri as producer,Fareeha Kanwal as executive producer, Rana Qaiser Waqas as studio engineer and Noman Shafiq handling digital support.
