Quran must be understood and practiced, not merely recited: Allama Riaz Hussain Shah

RAWALPINDI, Sep 01 (APP): Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah has said that the Holy Quran is not merely a book of recitation but a complete source of guidance that must be understood, reflected upon and implemented in daily life.
Addressing a weekly Mehfil-e-Zikr and Dars-e-Quran at Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, he said the Quran teaches humility, patience, good character, peace, love and tolerance.
He urged people to remain respectful and patient despite differences and said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) provides guidance on knowledge, justice, morality and service to humanity.
He added that the lives of the Ahl al-Bayt and the tragedy of Karbala offer enduring lessons of courage, sacrifice and steadfastness.
Allama Riaz Hussain Shah particularly urged youth and students to understand the teachings of the Holy Quran and incorporate them into their character and daily lives.
The Mehfil concluded with prayers for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
