PWPA, Dr. Maria Eleonora agrees on art therapy for women

Dr. Maria Eleonora of the University of Lodz on Wednesday called on Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Hina Pervaiz Butt to discuss joint initiatives aimed at supporting survivors of domestic violence.

LAHORE, Apr 01 (APP): Dr. Maria Eleonora of the University of Lodz on Wednesday called on Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Hina Pervaiz Butt to discuss joint initiatives aimed at supporting survivors of domestic violence.
During the meeting at the PWPA head office,both sides explored women’s protection mechanisms,rehabilitation frameworks and the psychological,emotional and mental recovery of affected women.
They agreed in principle to launch a joint art therapy project,allowing survivors to express trauma through colors,symbols, paintings and other creative forms of expression.
The initiative aims to reduce psychological stress,rebuild emotional resilience and restore confidence among women.
Chairperson Hina Pervaiz Butt said that the art therapy transforms silent trauma into hope and confidence and stressed that rehabilitation should go beyond legal aid to include structured psychological and emotional support.
She added that incorporating local cultural elements and symbolic expression can enhance program effectiveness,while international academic partnerships strengthen Punjab’s women protection systems.
She further noted that under the vision of Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the government prioritizes dignified rehabilitation,empowerment and self-reliance of women.
Dr. Eleonora appreciated the Punjab government and PWPA for initiatives that ensure timely support for survivors and facilitate their dignified reintegration into society.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at securing a safe,confident and dignified future for women.
