PVTC, DPS IT Attock join hands to equip youth with market-driven skills

Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) and District Public School and College of Information Technology (DPS IT) Attock on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote skill-based learning and workforce development across the district.

The agreement was signed by PVTC Chairman Khalid Masood Chaudhry on behalf of the council, while Deputy Commissioner Attock and Chairman Board of Governors DPS IT Attock, Rao Atif Raza, represented the institution. Addressing the ceremony, Khalid Masood Chaudhry said PVTC is delivering modern, industry-oriented technical and vocational training throughout Punjab. He noted that more than 45,000 individuals have successfully completed various training programs under the council and received professional certifications, enabling many to secure employment in Pakistan and overseas, as well as pursue entrepreneurship opportunities.
Highlighting the growing global demand for skilled manpower, he said the new partnership will provide students with internationally recognized vocational training and foreign language courses to enhance their competitiveness in international labor markets. He added that PVTC is expanding its outreach across all tehsils of Attock district to ensure easy access to quality training opportunities, ultimately contributing to economic growth through the development of a highly skilled workforce.
Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza emphasized that modern education must be complemented by practical and technical skills to prepare young people for future challenges. He said students of DPS IT Attock will benefit from specialized training in vocational, technical, industrial, IT-based, and market-oriented disciplines under the agreement. Describing youth empowerment through skill development as a key priority of the Punjab government, he reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to utilizing all available resources for the promotion of vocational education. Participants termed the agreement a landmark step for youth empowerment in the region, expressing optimism that it would create new career opportunities for students at both national and international levels. Following the signing ceremony, the PVTC chairman and deputy commissioner also visited DPS IT Attock and reviewed its academic and training facilities.
