Punjab taking fundamental steps for peace in line with CM’s vision: Kh Salman

Punjab Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that fundamental steps are being taken to establish peace across the province in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

LAHORE, Mar 12 (APP): Punjab Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that fundamental steps are being taken to establish peace across the province in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
He expressed these views while addressing a delegation of the Shia Ulema Council which met him at the Home Department here on Thursday. The meeting focused on inter-Muslim unity and reviewed the overall law and order situation across the province.
The minister welcomed the delegation and appreciated the positive role of religious scholars in promoting unity among Muslims on the occasion of Youm Ali. He said the scholars demonstrated great tolerance and unity during the observance of Youm Ali and the Shia community fully cooperated with the Punjab government.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that due to the effective strategy of the Punjab government, Youm Ali was observed very peacefully across the province. He emphasized that mutual understanding and unity are the need of the hour for maintaining peace. The Punjab government, he added, is actively promoting interfaith harmony and unity among Muslims throughout the province.
On the occasion, Focal Person Shia Ulema Council Qasim Ali Qasmi said that Youm Ali was observed with great respect and devotion and the arrangements made by the Punjab government were exemplary. He said the Shia Ulema Council is fully cooperating with the provincial government for maintaining peace, order, and unity.
The delegation of the Shia Ulema Council was led by Focal Person Punjab Qasim Ali Qasmi. Other members included Allama Hassan Qumi, Vice President Shia Ulema Council Central Punjab, Syed Jafar Ali Shah, Vice President Shia Ulema Council Central Punjab, Mian Muhammad Tufail Wattoo, Vice President Shia Ulema Council Central Punjab, Syed Shahbaz Haider Naqvi, Secretary Information Shia Ulema Council Central Punjab, Aamir Ali Khan, Vice President Shia Ulema Council Central Punjab, Hassan Raza Chughtai, President Shia Ulema Council Lahore Division, Asif Ali Zaidi, General Secretary Shia Ulema Council Lahore Division, Syed Ajlal Haider Zaidi, Dr. Zawal Qarnain, Maulana Mukhtiar Thaqafi, Syed Bilal Haider and Syed Tafsir Haider Kazmi.
Secretary Auqaf Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, Additional Secretary Internal Security, Additional Secretary Special Initiative, SSP Special Branch Ismail Kharak, SSP Operations Tauqir Muhammad Naeem and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.
