The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 54.594 billion for the administration of justice in the fiscal year 2026-27, according to budget documents released on Tuesday.

LAHORE, Jun 16 (APP): The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 54.594 billion for the administration of justice in the fiscal year 2026-27, according to budget documents released on Tuesday.
Of the total allocation, Rs 11.659 billion has been reserved for the Lahore High Court, while Rs 39.735 billion has been allocated for the lower judiciary, including sessions courts, civil courts, special courts, courts of small causes and labour courts.
The allocation also covers the Punjab Appellate Tribunal-II Multan, Punjab Appellate Tribunal Lahore, the Advocate General’s Office, the Solicitor Department, the Mufassil Establishment and the Punjab Judicial Academy.
According to the documents, the funds will be utilized for payment of salaries and allowances of employees, operating expenses, retirement benefits, acquisition of physical assets and maintenance of judicial institutions across the province.
Meanwhile, the government has also allocated Rs 3.2 billion for ongoing and new development schemes in the justice sector, aimed at improving judicial infrastructure and strengthening the delivery of justice.
