An important meeting of the Punjab Agriculture Department and the Office of the AI Delivery Unit was held under the chairmanship of Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Ali Dar and Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah Kirmani to review the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the province’s agriculture sector here on Monday.
The meeting discussed in detail the integration of existing agricultural data and systems with AI to improve planning, productivity and decision-making in the sector.
He said the Office of the AI Delivery Unit was working to translate the AI Vision 2029 into practical, measurable and results-oriented outcomes.
The meeting reviewed the potential use of AI in integrating agricultural data and the existing systems of the Agriculture Department for improved crop planning, soil and water management, weather and pest forecasting, crop yield estimates and the timely provision of agricultural advisory services to farmers.
Ali Dar said that integrating AI into the agriculture sector was among the Punjab government’s top priorities.
