LAHORE, Aug 20 (APP): The Punjab Interior Department has made digital inventory mandatory for all arms dealers across the province and ordered to enter the current stock and complete record of purchase and sale on the online portal.
According to a spokesman for Punjab Home Department, inventory module has been implemented for Business Arms License (BAL) holders in Punjab, now every arms dealer will have to enter the complete details of the guns, bullets and other relevant stocks in his possession on the online portal of the Home Department, while the record of purchase and sale will also be updated online.
The Home Department has set a deadline of August 26, 2026 for completion of online inventory of existing stock of arms dealers, directing dealers to ensure complete entry of all their existing stock by the due date.
According to the spokesman, the details of the arms dealers of their respective districts have been sent to all the Deputy Commissioners, the Deputy Commissioners will ensure that all the dealers register their current stock record on the online portal and later submit the update report to the Punjab Home Department.
The Home Department has made it clear that arms dealers who fail to upload inventory can be prosecuted as per the law, including license suspension, business sealing and fines for violating the rules.
On the other hand, a special training workshop is also being organised by Punjab Home Department to inform arms dealers about the use of Punjab Arms License Inventory Module.
According to the spokesman, the training workshop will be held on Monday, August 24 at 10:30 am in the Punjab Forensic Science Authority auditorium. Arms dealers will also be able to participate in the workshop online from the concerned deputy commissioner office.
