Punjab govt reshuffles senior bureaucracy, transfers DGs, DCs

LAHORE, Jul 14 (APP): The Punjab government on Tuesday carried out a major reshuffle in the provincial bureaucracy, transferring and posting several senior officers, including directors general (DGs) deputy commissioners (DCs) and administrative secretaries, according to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).

Under the notification, Syed Musa Raza (PAS/BS-19), DG Punjab Food Authority (PFA), was transferred and posted as DG, Environmental Protection Agency Punjab. Mansoor Ahmad (PAS/BS-19), Managing Director Horticulture Authority Lahore, was appointed DG PFA.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) DG, Umer Javed (PAS/BS-19) was transferred as DG Suthra Punjab Authority (SPA), while DC Toba Tek Singh Umer Abbas Mela (PAS/BS-19) was posted as DG PDMA.

Dr. Muhammad Waheed Asghar Bhatti (PAS/BS-19), Chief of Section, Planning and Development Board, was appointed Managing Director Punjab Resource Management and Policy Unit (PRMPU), while DC Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali (PAS/BS-19) was posted as Chief of Section, Planning and Development Board. Additional Director General (Housing), Lahore Development Authority, Awais Mushtaq (PAS/BS-19), was appointed DC Sialkot.

Additional Secretary Home Maham Asif Malik (PAS/BS-19) was transferred and posted as DC Toba Tek Singh, while DC Okara Ahmed Usman Javaid (PAS/BS-19) was appointed Additional Secretary, Home Department. Additional Secretary Irrigation Muhammad Ikram Malik (PAS/BS-19) was posted as DC Okara, whereas DC Jhang Ali Akbar (PMS/BS-18) was transferred as Additional Secretary, Irrigation Department.

Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din (PAS/BS-18) was posted as DC Jhang.

DC Khanewal Maleeha Rashid (PAS/BS-19) was directed to report to the S&GAD to attend the Senior Management Course (SMC), while Additional Secretary Health Hena Arshad (PAS/BS-19) was appointed DC Khanewal. DC Nankana Sahib Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao (PMS/BS-18) was transferred as Additional Secretary, Health Department, and Secretary (Services and Coordination), Board of Revenue, Ra’ana Hameed (PAS/BS-19), was posted as DC Nankana Sahib.

Additional Secretary Finance Sayyed Muhammad Abbas Shah (PAS/BS-19) was transferred as DC Bahawalnagar, while DC Bahawalnagar Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhoon (PMS/BS-18) was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Saaf Pani Authority (PSPA), on deputation. Chief Executive Officer PSPA Capt (retd) Syed Ali Asghar (PAS/BS-19) was posted as Additional Secretary, Finance Department.

The transfers and postings took effect immediately under Section 9 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974, the notification added.
