Punjab govt continues daily cleaning drive in public hospitals

LAHORE, Jun 28 (APP): The Punjab government is continuing its daily deep cleaning campaign in public hospitals across the province under the “Punjab New Health Culture” initiative to provide a cleaner and safer environment for patients.
On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, comprehensive deep cleaning is being carried out daily in tehsil headquarters, district headquarters and other major government hospitals. The chief minister is being provided with a daily progress report, while the campaign is also being monitored through a digital system.
The drive includes thorough cleaning of hospital entrances, corridors, wards, waiting areas and public washrooms. Operation theatres are being cleaned daily under professional protocols to help keep them infection-free, while doors, windows and other facilities are also being cleaned regularly.
Hospital floors are being washed with specialised chemicals, and special attention is being given to paediatric and gynaecology wards to ensure a hygienic environment for children and women.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the Punjab government was committed to protecting the health of every citizen, particularly women and children. She said the introduction of European-standard deep cleaning practices in public hospitals was helping reduce the spread of infectious diseases and improving the overall healthcare environment.
