Punjab govt announces 5,000 laptops for Kashmiri students

The Punjab government has decided to provide 5,000 laptops to the students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Punjab cabinet has given its approval. 

LAHORE, Aug 08 (APP): The Punjab government has decided to provide 5,000 laptops to the students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Punjab cabinet has given its approval.
According to official sources, the laptops provided by the Punjab government will be distributed among the students studying in government educational institutions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of merit.
Students of public sector colleges and universities of Azad Kashmir will also be able to benefit from this scheme. The distribution method will be decided keeping in mind the number and merit of students as well as the needs of the institutions so that maximum deserving and talented students can benefit from this facility, the official sources said.
The academic performance of students and the needs of institutions will be taken into account for distributing laptops. Meanwhile, student data will be obtained from the relevant educational institutions for the distribution of 5,000 laptops.
The formula for distributing laptops will be prepared based on the number of students, academic performance and the needs of the institutions. After the approval of the Punjab cabinet, the procedure for providing and distributing laptops will be decided with the Azad Kashmir government.
