LAHORE, May 16 (APP): An important meeting chaired by Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique reviewed Eid-ul-Adha arrangements across Punjab. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian and municipal officers attended the meeting via video link.
Officials informed the meeting that, with the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, special Eid-ul-Adha guidelines have been issued, while the leave of municipal staff and Suthra Punjab workers has been cancelled until the last day of Eid.
The minister directed that cattle markets and sale points across Punjab be fully operational by Sunday, adding that no fee would be charged for the buying and selling of sacrificial animals this year as well.
He said that all basic facilities would be provided at cattle markets, while temporary sale points would also be established in every city. Strict action will be taken against illegal sale points and roadside animal trading, with monitoring teams conducting round-the-clock patrols.
Special focus was also placed on cleanliness arrangements after sacrifices. Zeeshan Rafique directed authorities to distribute eco-friendly waste bags and set up awareness camps in every union council to ensure proper sanitation during Eid.
