PSCA warns citizens of fake e-challan SMS scam

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Friday warned citizens about fraudsters sending fake SMS messages in the name of e-challan in an attempt to deceive the public and obtain their financial information.

LAHORE, Mar 13 (APP): The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on Friday warned citizens about fraudsters sending fake SMS messages in the name of e-challan in an attempt to deceive the public and obtain their financial information.
The spokesperson clarified that official e-challan messages from PSCA are sent only from the number 9915 and do not contain any links or instructions for online payments.
He added that if any message received from 9915 contains a link or requests bank account details, ATM card information or other financial data, citizens should remain cautious as PSCA never asks for such information through SMS.
The spokesperson advised citizens that verification of e-challan can only be done through the official PSCA website (echallan.psca.gop.pk), while payments can be made through the ePay Punjab mobile application by generating a PSID.
He further said that citizens could also call Emergency Helpline 15 and select option 6 for guidance.
