LAHORE, Apr 15 (APP): Dry and hot weather prevailed in the provincial capital on Wednesday, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast scattered rain over the next 24 hours.
According to the PMD, maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 28°C, with humidity levels at 30 per cent and wind speed measured at 5 kilometres per hour.
The department stated that rain is expected from Thursday through April 18, as a fresh wave of westerly winds has entered the northwestern regions of the country. This system is likely to bring a noticeable drop in temperature, easing the prevailing heat.
Officials also warned of intermittent rainfall accompanied by strong and gusty winds in Lahore during the forecast period, and advised citizens to take necessary precautionary measures to avoid any potential hazards.
