A probation officer was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs10,000 in Lodhran on Monday during a raid conducted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab.

MULTAN, Jun 22 (APP):A probation officer was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe
of Rs10,000 in Lodhran on Monday during a raid conducted by
the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab.
A team led by Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Lodhran Ali Hassan Gilani, under the supervision
of Regional Director ACE Multan Bisharat Nabi and Judicial Magistrate Asad Hayat, carried
out the successful operation.
The accused, Abdul Jabbar, a Probation Officer (BS-17) at the Directorate General Punjab Probation
and Parole Service, Home Department Punjab, was allegedly caught accepting Rs10,000 in
illegal gratification.
The tainted currency was recovered from his possession.
According to officials, Abdul Jabbar had earlier collected Rs10,000 as legitimate cash for
a convict’s training and subsequently demanded and accepted an additional Rs10,000 as
bribe, at which point he was apprehended.
A case has been registered against the accused and further legal proceedings are underway.
