LAHORE, May 17 (APP): The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) intensified its enforcement actions against businesses failing to register for sales tax and those involved in tax non-compliance across the province.
According to PRA spokesperson here Sunday, the Enforcement Officers conducted operations in various cities, during which heavy fines were imposed on multiple business points and notices were issued to violators.
Actions were also taken against businesses on charges including non-registration, failure to provide records and issuance of fake invoices. Several defaulters were directed through notices to immediately complete their sales tax registration and clear outstanding tax liabilities.
He mentioned that PRA Chairman PRA had directed officers to further accelerate enforcement operations throughout Punjab and continue indiscriminate action against tax evaders.
The spokesperson added that continuous monitoring and data verification of different sectors is also being carried out to expand the tax net and improve compliance. The public is requested to lodge online complaints against food points and service sector businesses not issuing proper receipts or invoices.
