RAWALPINDI, Aug 18 (APP):Under the supervision of Commissioner Khalid Yameen Satti, the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Rawalpindi has accelerated enforcement measures across the district to ensure transparent tax collection and strict adherence to tax regulations at commercial establishments.
The authority has issued fresh directives to hotels, restaurants, food outlets, and service providers, making it mandatory to issue formal, standardized tax receipts to consumers upon payment.
The spokesperson for PRA emphasized that handwritten, informal, or temporary bills are strictly discouraged. All businesses are required to generate proper electronic invoices detailing the taxable amount and taxes levied to maintain full transaction transparency.
To boost consumer awareness, PRA has instructed food chains, hotels, and restaurants to prominently display public guidance notices regarding official tax receipts on their premises. Citizens have also been advised to insist on receiving a computer-generated tax invoice and to verify the details printed on their bills before making payments.
Dedicated PRA enforcement teams are actively conducting field inspections across major commercial hubs in Rawalpindi. These teams are monitoring compliance with the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS) and inspecting billing practices to plug revenue leakages.
Commissioner PRA Rawalpindi Khalid Yameen Satti said that modern technology and robust monitoring are being deployed to expand the tax net and document the provincial economy. He warned that indiscriminate legal action will be taken against tax evasion, fraudulent billing, or failure to integrate with the official electronic invoicing system. Business owners have been urged to comply with regulatory standards and deposit collected taxes into the national exchequer without delay.
