LAYYAH, Mar 10 (APP): MEPCO Layyah has launched strict action against power theft, initiating arrests instead of relying only on fines.
According to a MEPCO spokesperson, SDO Layyah Shehzad Khan Lashari conducted a raid in Chak No 117 ATDA and caught a consumer pilfering electricity through a direct hook connection. The accused, identified as Adil, was using stolen electricity at his house and dairy farm.
Police registered a case and shifted the suspect to lock-up.
SDO Shehzad Khan Lashari said no leniency would be shown to power thieves. He added that fines, FIRs, and arrests would continue against those involved in electricity theft.
