Police’s custodian of life and property of public; Governor Punjab

LAHORE, Apr 02 (APP): Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the police is custodian of lives and property of the people.
“Effective and comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent crimes, adding those who spread chaos will be dealt with strictly”, he said during a meeting with IGP Punjab Rao Abdul Karim who called on him at the Governor’s House here on Thursday.
Law and order and rule of law in the province came under discussion during the meeting.
Home Secretary Punjab Ahmed Javed Qazi also called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.
Governor Punjab congratulated the newly appointed IG Punjab on assuming office and expressed his best wishes.
Sardar Saleem Haider said sacrifices of police personnel to eradicate terrorism are commendable.
Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the best security measures were taken across the province on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said that he and the Punjab Chief Minister are on the same page to make Punjab crime-free.
Punjab Governor said that the responsibility of protecting the life and property of every citizen lies with the government. He said that the police should use all resources to ensure law and order in the province.
Punjab Governor said that those who spread chaos will be dealt sternly.
He paid tribute to the martyrs of the police who made sacrifices to eradicate terrorism.
