DARYA KHAN, May 20 (APP):The police seized more than 51 tonnes of wheat and confiscated a large quantity of non-custom paid cigarettes in separate anti-smuggling operations, the police spokesperson said on Wednesday.
According to police, the operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Darya Khan, Muhammad Azam.
SHO Saddar Darya Khan, Inspector Sajjad Khan, along with a police team, intercepted two trucks and a loader vehicle carrying illegally transported wheat.
The police said over 51 tonnes of wheat were recovered and taken into custody.
In another operation, police set up a checkpoint and foiled an attempt to smuggle non-custom paid cigarettes, recovering 850 cartons during the raid, they added.
