RAWALPINDI, Sep 01 (APP): Rawalpindi Police remain on standby, coordinating with the district administration and rescue agencies to ensure public safety and facilitate their movement amid torrential rainfall across the city.
On the directives of City Police Officer (CPO), Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, the Rawalpindi Police have been placed on high alert, with senior officers deployed in the field to monitor the situation and respond to any emergency.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) visited the Gawalmandi Bridge and Nallah Lai to assess the water flow and review the overall situation following the heavy downpour.
Divisional Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs) and police post in-charges were also present in the field and monitoring the situation in their respective areas.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has directed all officers to maintain close coordination with the district administration and rescue agencies and provide all possible support to citizens.
He also instructed the Chief Traffic Officer to ensure the smooth and continuous flow of traffic and issue timely traffic advisories to keep motorists and the public informed about road conditions.
Rawalpindi Police said personnel, in collaboration with other departments, remained actively engaged in providing assistance and facilitating citizens during the adverse weather conditions.
Citizens have been advised to contact rescue services in case of an emergency. They could also call Police Helpline 15 for immediate assistance.
