Police arrest three persons for displaying weapons in crackdown

The police  arrested three suspects for allegedly displaying weapons in public as part of an ongoing crackdown against criminal elements across the district, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.

BHAKKAR, Jun 3 (APP):The police  arrested three suspects for allegedly displaying weapons in public as part of an ongoing crackdown against criminal elements across the district, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.
According to the spokesperson, the operation was launched on the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO), Shehzad Rafiq Awan, targeting criminals, individuals involved in aerial firing, public display of weapons, and activities disrupting public order.
The arrests were made during an operation conducted under the supervision of SDPO, Kallurkot, Zafar Iqbal.
A police team led by SHO, Hayat Khan Shaheed Police Station, Malik Kazim Hussain  carried out raids in various areas.
The suspects, identified as Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Ramzan, and Khalid, were taken into custody.
The police said they recovered a  Kalashnikov from Mahmood-ul-Hassan, a 12-bore repeater from Ramzan, and a 30-bore pistol from Khalid.
Cases had been registered against the suspects and further investigations were underway, they added.
In a separate operation, the police arrested a suspect identified as Ehsanullah for allegedly  failing to complete the mandatory tenant registration process after renting a house.
Legal action against the accused was underway, the spokesperson added.
