PML-N women leaders mark Youm-e-Takbeer

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) women leaders on Monday reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and defence and termed Youm-e-Takbeer as a defining moment in Pakistan’s history symbolising sovereignty and strategic strength.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 01 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) women leaders on Monday reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and defence and termed Youm-e-Takbeer as a defining moment in Pakistan’s history symbolising sovereignty and strategic strength.
They remarked this  at a ceremony held at Muslim League House, Rawalpindi to commemorate the anniversary of the May 28, 1998 nuclear tests.
Tahira Aurangzeb MNA, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab, Shazia Rizwan, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Asma Abbasi and  Zeb-un-Nisa Awan MPA were among the participants, along with a large number of party women workers.
Speakers said that the decision to conduct nuclear tests, taken under the leadership of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, reflected resolve in the face of international pressure and economic sanctions. They added that the move ensured credible defence and strategic balance in the region.
They termed May 28 a symbol of national pride, resilience and self-reliance, saying that the country’s defence capability was strengthened through the contributions of scientists, engineers and the armed forces.
Highlighting current challenges, the speakers stressed the need for national cohesion and support for state institutions, saying sustainable progress depended on political stability and economic strength.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the country’s security, prosperity and stability, while participants paid tribute to the armed forces, martyrs and scientists and reiterated their resolve to continue efforts for national development.
