Pictorial exhibition, poster competition held to mark Defence Day
RAWALPINDI, Sep 05 (APP):The Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi organised a pictorial exhibition and poster competition in connection with Defence Day celebrations here on Friday.
Director Punjab Group of Colleges Ch. Muhammad Akram attended the event as chief guest.
The exhibition and competition provided participants an opportunity to depict the spirit of September 6, sacrifices of the armed forces, patriotism and commitment to defending the motherland.
Renowned artists Azeem Iqbal, Mehmood Ali and Sameeha Khaliq judged the competition.
Ifra Naeem secured first position, Manahil Mehmood second and Winifred Gill third.
Certificates and shields were distributed among the winners, while participating artists and judges were also presented certificates and shields in recognition of their contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi Muhammad Shakoor thanked the chief guest, judges and participants for their participation.
He said such activities played an important role in promoting patriotism, national unity and awareness among the younger generation and provided artists opportunities to express national sentiments through art.
