SARGODHA, Sep 09 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday seized a vehicle carrying 600 kilogrammes of dead chickens during a crackdown in Sargodha.

According to a PFA spokesperson, the vehicle was intercepted at a checkpoint established near 33 Phatak(railway gate) on Bhalwal road following prolonged surveillance and confidential information.

The 600kg of dead chickens were seized and disposed of at the Jhal dumping site. An FIR was registered and the accused were also arrested. The vehicle was also taken into police custody.

He added, a province-wide crackdown against the supply and transportation of dead chickens was underway.

Citizens were advised to report complaints regarding food safety violations to the PFA helpline 1223.
