PFA seizes 600 litres of adulterated milk, 50 kg of khoya

Acting under the supervision of the Deputy Director Operations, a Punjab Food Authority’s (PFA)  team on Monday seized  adulterated milk 600 litres and  unsafe khoya 50 kilograms during a raid in  Tehsil, Fort Abbas.

CHISHTIAN, Apr 20 (APP):Acting under the supervision of the Deputy Director Operations, a Punjab Food Authority’s (PFA)  team on Monday seized  adulterated milk 600 litres and  unsafe khoya 50 kilograms during a raid in  Tehsil, Fort Abbas.
According to officials, the team confiscated a large quantity of the products and shut down the production unit until further improvements were made, the official sources said.
The action was taken at a khoya unit located in Kissan Colony, Fort Abbas, where substandard khoya was being prepared using adulterated milk and harmful ingredients.
The laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of ghee and other substances in the fake khoya, indicating adulteration.
The seized milk and khoya were later disposed of under the supervision of the team.
The sources said that, in line with the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the crackdown against  food adulteration would continue.
