GUJRAT, Sep 12 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted inspections at 58 food points across the district to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to citizens,on the directions of Deputy District Officer(DDO),Sadia Rafat,here on Saturday.
According to an official source,PFA food safety teams issued 22 improvement notices to food business operators over poor hygiene and other violations,while eight operators were fined a total of Rs.126,000 for violating food safety laws.
An Emergency Prohibition Order (EPO) was also issued against one food point, while 1.4-kgs of prohibited food items were discarded during the inspections.
The authority said that inspections and legal action would continue to ensure the availability of safe, hygienic and quality food to citizens.
