The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), on the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat, inspected 55 food businesses across Gujrat district and imposed fines totaling Rs139,000 on seven food outlets for violating food safety regulations.
PFA continues food safety drive in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Jul 13 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), on the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat, inspected 55 food businesses across Gujrat district and imposed fines totaling Rs139,000 on seven food outlets for violating food safety regulations.
According to official sources, the authority also issued improvement notices to 16 food businesses during the inspection campaign to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
During the drive, food safety teams collected three samples for laboratory analysis and discarded 6.5 kilograms of expired food items and 50 litres of spoiled cooking oil.
The PFA said inspection campaigns and legal action against violators would continue to ensure the provision of safe, hygienic and quality food to the public.
