PESSI holds solidarity walk to mark Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir
LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP):Punjab Employees Social Security Institute (PESSI) observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir across the province on Wednesday reaffirming unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir through ceremonies, solidarity walks and special prayers.
A central ceremony was held at the PESSI Head Office, attended by Commissioner Punjab Social Security Zulfiqar Ali Kharal, Vice Commissioner Tauqeer Ilyas Cheema, senior officers and employees.
The participants observed a one-minute silence to pay tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and later took part in a solidarity walk to express continued support for the Kashmiri people. Special prayers were also offered for Pakistan’s peace, progress and the freedom of Kashmir.
Addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal said Pakistan’s support for the people of Kashmir would remain unwavering. He said Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir symbolizes the nation’s unity and determination against India’s illegal actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), adding that the people of Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
The ceremony concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to the Kashmir cause and raising slogans in support of the people of Kashmir.
Similar ceremonies, solidarity walks and prayer gatherings were also organized at all PESSI offices, hospitals and medical outlets across the province. Participants paid tribute to the sacrifices, resilience and steadfastness of the Kashmiri people and called upon the international community to take immediate notice of the grave human rights violations being committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
