PESSI chief instructs better healthcare for workers

Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal on Saturday directed officials to ensure the uninterrupted provision of quality healthcare services to workers, warning that negligence in medicine supply and recovery targets would not be tolerated.

MULTAN, Jun 06 (APP): Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal on Saturday directed officials to ensure the uninterrupted provision of quality healthcare services to workers, warning that negligence in medicine supply and recovery targets would not be tolerated.
During a visit to Khawaja Fareed Social Security Hospital, the Mumtazabad Basic Health Unit and the Social Security Directorate in Multan, the commissioner reviewed healthcare facilities, administrative affairs and service delivery standards.
He inaugurated a newly installed solar power system at the hospital and inspected various wards and departments. Kharal also met patients and their families to obtain feedback on medical services.
The commissioner examined staff attendance, duty rosters, medicine availability, stock levels, cleanliness, medical equipment and overall hospital performance. He instructed doctors and paramedical staff to maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards workers.
At the Mumtazabad Basic Health Unit, he emphasized improving cleanliness, discipline and healthcare delivery standards.
Later, while reviewing the performance of Social Security offices in Multan and Muzaffargarh, Kharal assessed progress on social security contributions, Workers Welfare Fund recoveries, the Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card programme and the registration of new workers.
He said the welfare of workers and timely provision of services remained a top priority in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister. He also directed officials to promptly address workers’ complaints regarding ration cards and achieve all recovery targets, reiterating a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence.
