Patronage of businesses vital to national economy; says governor

LAHORE, Sep 29 (APP): Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan stated that the business community plays a pivotal role in the country’s development. He emphasized that the promotion of business activities is essential for the national economy.

He made these remarks during a meeting at with Chairman Shah Alam Market Board, member LCCI Executive Committee Syed Azmat Shah during a meeting at the Governor’s House here on Tuesday.

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan remarked that the business community serves as the backbone of the national economy. He stated that it is the government’s responsibility to provide facilities to the business community to ensure economic stability. The Governor noted that business activities not only drive socio-economic development, but also create employment opportunities for millions of people. He highlighted that Shah Alam Market is renowned across Asia.

The Governor acknowledged that the business community is playing a key role in national development despite challenging circumstances. He emphasized the need to formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for enforcement forces to prevent the misuse of authority. The Governor asserted that a thriving business sector leads to national prosperity, adding that every business even the smallest shop is significant. He concluded by stating that the doors of Governor House are always open to the business community.

Chairman Shah Alam Market, member LCCI Executive Committee Syed Azmat Shah briefed the Governor of Punjab in detail on the issues facing the trading community in Shah Alam Market, including electricity problems, the dilapidated state of roads, and parking-related difficulties.

The Governor assured Chairman Shah Alam Market Syed Azmat Shah that these issues would be resolved.
