Over 813,000 children to receive polio drops in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, Apr 13 (APP):Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia inaugurated the anti-polio campaign by administering polio vaccine drops to children at the outpatient department of Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that the complete eradication of polio was
a shared national responsibility. He made it clear that no negligence in the anti-polio campaign
would be tolerated.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, while briefing the participants, said the district-wide
campaign would continue till April 16.
During the drive, more than 813,000 children would be administered polio drops. He said 3,276 mobile
teams had been formed to conduct door-to-door vaccination across the district.
Later, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia also visited the emergency department of Bahawal Victoria
Hospital, where he inspected various counters and wards.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza and the Medical Superintendent accompanied him during the
visit.
The commissioner said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, all available resources were being utilized to provide quality healthcare services to the public, adding that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.
