Over 31,000 students appear in PU centralized entry test

Punjab University (PU) on Sunday conducted its undergraduate admission entry test across the country under its centralized admission system, with more than 31,000 candidates appearing for the examination.

LAHORE, Jun 14 (APP): Punjab University (PU) on Sunday conducted its undergraduate admission entry test across the country under its centralized admission system, with more than 31,000 candidates appearing for the examination.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Chairman Admission Committee Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem, Registrar Dr. Ahmad Islam, Treasurer Tasneem Kamran and other senior officials visited various examination centres to review arrangements and monitor the conduct of the test.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the entry test had been organized in a transparent and efficient manner to facilitate students seeking admission to various undergraduate programmes at the university. He said all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure a smooth examination process. He informed that more than 31,000 students had registered for the entry test, which was being conducted simultaneously at designated centres across Pakistan, including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Gilgit, Skardu and other major cities.
He added that the university had established examination centres in multiple cities to provide maximum convenience to candidates, ensuring that students from remote areas could also participate without difficulty. He further said that facilities had also been arranged for parents and guardians accompanying the candidates.
A university spokesperson stated that the entry test was being conducted at 105 examination centres nationwide. The spokesperson said seven different categories of entry tests were being held for admission to all undergraduate programmes under the centralized admission policy.
He further stated that the entry test carried 25 percent weightage in the undergraduate admission merit formula, making it an important component of the selection process. To facilitate candidates, the test was conducted in two shifts.
The spokesperson added that guidance stalls had been set up at examination centres, while a shuttle service was also arranged on the New Campus to assist students and their families.
