RAWALPINDI, Aug 27 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Thursday directed hospital administrations to ensure that all fire hydrant systems and auxiliary safety equipment installed across public sector health facilities in the district are rendered fully operational and maintained in a state of constant readiness.
Chairing a high-level meeting of Medical Superintendents (MS) convened in light of directives issued by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Deputy Commissioner evaluated the availability, functionality, and operational status of fire water hydrants, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency response apparatus.
He stressed that establishing a robust fire safety architecture and functional hydrants remains vital for mounting a timely and effective response during any emergency.
Deputy Commissioner instructed hospital management to enforce routine maintenance schedules, conduct periodic testing, and guarantee the absolute functional readiness of all fire safety machinery at all times. He further directed that dedicated technical staff must remain present on round-the-clock duty to operate emergency systems immediately if required, warning that strict disciplinary action will be initiated against personnel for any attendance deficiencies or administrative negligence.
