Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan on Monday directed police officials to maintain the highest level of vigilance during Muharram-ul-Haram, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on security and that any emergency situation must be met with an immediate and effective response.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 22 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan on Monday directed police officials to maintain the highest level of vigilance during Muharram-ul-Haram, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on security and that any emergency situation must be met with an immediate and effective response.
He issued these instructions while chairing a high-level meeting held here at Police Lines Dera to review Muharram security arrangements and the overall law and order situation in the district.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ziauddin Ahmad, SP Investigation, SP City, SP CTD, SP Elite, SP Special Branch, SP Security, DSP City, DSP Saddar, DSP Traffic, DSP Legal, DSP Headquarters, and heads of Al-Barq, the Bomb Disposal Unit, FRP, and DSB.
During the briefing, the RPO was informed about the implementation of security directives regarding Muharram gatherings and mourning processions, including route security, deployment of personnel, and the overall security plan. He also visited the special control room established to monitor Muharram security arrangements and reviewed the schedule and monitoring system for events being held across the district.
Later, RPO Ghulam Mubashir Mekan met officers and personnel of the Anti-Riot Squad, Al-Barq, Quick Response Force, and Bomb Disposal Unit, who remain on high alert to respond to any emergency situation during Muharram.
Addressing the officers and jawans, the RPO praised their dedication and professionalism, noting that they continue to perform their duties effectively despite challenging circumstances. He emphasized the need for heightened vigilance during Muharram and directed all units to ensure the quickest possible response in the event of any untoward incident.
“Public safety remains our top priority. There will be no compromise on security during Muharram-ul-Haram, and immediate response to any emergency situation must be ensured,” he stated.
Appreciating the morale and commitment of the force, the RPO also ordered commendation certificates for officers and personnel demonstrating outstanding professional performance. He further directed all police wings to strengthen coordination and cooperation to maintain a peaceful and secure environment throughout the holy month.
