Nigehban Cards distributed among minority communities

BAHAWALPUR, Apr 21 (APP):On the special direction of Chief Minister of Punjab, the distribution of “Nigehban Cards” for minority communities has formally commenced, with efforts accelerated to provide financial assistance to deserving individuals in the district.
In this regard, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza distributed Nigehban Cards among deserving members of the Christian community, particularly those belonging to the labor class, during a ceremony
held at Saint Dominic Church.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia stated that more than 131 Nigehban Cards had already been distributed among deserving individuals in the district. He emphasized that the Punjab government stands shoulder to shoulder with minority communities and was taking practical steps for their welfare and well-being. He further said that the Nigehban Card provided financial assistance to underprivileged individuals, enabling them to meet their basic needs with dignity. Ensuring better access to government facilities for deserving members of minority communities remains a top priority of the government, he added.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing equal facilities and protection to all citizens without discrimination. He noted that the issuance of Nigehban Cards aims to strengthen social protection for minority communities and integrate them more effectively into the national mainstream. He also highlighted that welfare initiatives for minorities were being implemented at an accelerated pace, and under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, several programs had been launched to safeguard minority rights and promote their development, yielding positive results.
