LAHORE, Jun 03 (APP): Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari on Wednesday said that an extraordinary level of enthusiasm is being witnessed among the people of Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the upcoming elections, with political activity reaching its peak across the region.
In a statement, she said that the arrival of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in Gilgit-Baltistan has significantly changed the political atmosphere and energized party supporters. She added that the warm welcome and public reception accorded to Nawaz Sharif in Gilgit reflected the affection and respect the people of the region have for him.
Azma Bokhari said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan continue to regard Nawaz Sharif highly and view the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as a symbol of development, prosperity and public service. She maintained that the region had witnessed major development projects and public welfare initiatives during PML-N governments, while other political parties failed to meet public expectations despite their promises.
The minister further stated that PML-N candidates are running an energetic election campaign and receiving widespread support from voters.
